My name is Jack and I love movies. I grew up watching Roger and Gene doing their movie shows on TV. I think those shows were very influential in turning me in to a movie lover, and I will always be grateful to them for that.
Roger was a great writer, but I think his main strength was he was able to express his thoughts to the normal movie viewer in a very entertaining way. He wasn't interested in impressing you with his skill with words or with his knowledge of film theory.
Roger was just interested in getting you as excited about the movies as he was. I loved reading his reviews, and I am going to miss him.
